< PreviousColleagues and friends, as we head into what I’ve always considered one of the highlights of the year—our chance to celebrate the close partnership between distributors and exhibitors— I confess the landscape looks a bit different for me. Over my many years in service of Warner Bros. Pictures domestic distribution, I have enjoyed collaborating with my counterparts on the international side. Now, as I spearhead our global efforts for the very first time, I must say that I am both humbled by the task before me, but even more excited about growing into this new arena, and getting to work even more closely with so many of you. As you read this, we’re on the verge of releasing A Minecraft Movie this week—based on the bestselling video game of all time—starring Jason Momoa and Jack Black and from our partners at Legendary, and we are anticipating the thrills and chills your audiences will experience when Ryan Coogler’s Sinners releases in just a couple of weeks, with Michael B. Jordan in not one, but two impressive roles. Now, let’s begin by looking ahead to Warner’s incredible slate of films coming to your cinemas around the world this year. Rev your engines—and LOOK UP!—because two of this summer’s biggest films are soaring to the big screen and IMAX®. First up, in late June, is Apple Original Films’ F1. This high-octane, action-packed feature will be the most authentic racing film you’ve ever seen, and it stars none other than Brad Pitt, alongside Damson Idris as teammates and rivals on and off the track. Directed by Joseph Kosinski and written by Ehren Kruger, it’s produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Kosinski, famed FORMULA 1® driver Lewis Hamilton, Pitt, Jeremy Kleiner, Dede Gardner and Chad Oman. It also stars Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, and Javier Bardem. Coming in hot for July is one of the most-anticipated films of the year and the first feature out of the gate from our partners at DC Studios: Superman. In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind. The film, written and directed by Gunn and produced by DC heads Peter Safran and Gunn, stars David Corenswet in the titular role and, of course, as alter ego Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, alongside Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, Maria Gabriela de Faria, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell. From the great writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson comes One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Benicio del Toro, Sean Penn, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, Wood Harris, Alana Haim and Chase Infiniti. Anderson also produces, along with Sara Murphy and Adam Somner. It will be in your theaters and IMAX in late September. Now let’s take a look at what our partners at New Line Cinema have in store for you this year. First up is Final Destination Bloodlines. The newest chapter in this bloody successful franchise takes audiences back to the very beginning of Death’s twisted sense of justice—will they be able to break the cycle? What do you think…?
