We welcome the MPA, studio partners and the filmmakers and stars who will light up our screens. Trade press and industry analysts also join us to hear what’s in store for our audiences in the coming year. For all of you here at CinemaCon—the Foundation was built for you. Since the official launch at last year’s CinemaCon, The Cinema Foundation has been working to advance the moviegoing experience for all of you. While last year we were met with questions; this year we are thrilled to share answers. In our inaugural year, thanks to the generous donations of more than a hundred companies and individuals, we began work to advance the moviegoing experience through promotion, data and collaboration. Highlights over the last year include: INDUSTRY PROMOTION: • The launch of the first-ever National Cinema Day brought over 8.1 million people to our cinemas. It became a template for international cinema days to follow and shows the collective power of our industry working together to promote the cinematic experience, leveraging the nearly 300 million social media followers of movie theaters and studios in the US alone. • We celebrated popcorn in our theatres for National Popcorn Day and promoted going to the movies as the perfect place for arguably America’s favorite snack. DATA AND RESEARCH: • Just last month, we released the Cinema Foundation’s inaugural State of the Industry Report and have shared the results widely with press and analysts and global decision- makers. This report demonstrates with clear numbers that the theatrical experience is imperative to a film’s overall success, and highlights that our industry is at the forefront of innovation, community building, and business growth. Investment in our spaces is the key to a bright future ahead. • Commissioned additional research into audience growth opportunities and will ensure data is at the heart of everything we do. CENTER FOR INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY: • We launched the first meeting of the Center for Innovation and Technology – an all- industry stakeholders committee that will collaborate on collecting and learning from real-world pilots in innovation and technology. (Continued on next page) JACKIE BRENNEMAN President The Cinema Foundation BRYAN BRAUNLICH Executive Director The Cinema Foundation(Jackie Brenneman & Bryan Braunlich Continued) CAREERS, EDUCATION AND DIVERSITY: • We launched the Cinema Foundation Summit with programming that brought important educational and informational efforts to our members and strengthened our relationship with filmmakers, including Damien Chazelle and James Gray. • We announced our partnership with the ICTA, which can be seen working together at CinemaCon to further our relationship with our friends in technology. CHARITIES: • We launched a partnership with the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Assistance Fund to support their ongoing efforts to aid employees in our industry. While these projects and programs show the power of what the foundation can accomplish, we have so many exciting plans that build on the successes of our first year and will have a direct impact on your businesses this year. We cannot grow the Foundation without your support. The Cinema Foundation reaffirms a commitment to preserving the exhibition experience and the interconnected businesses essential to the moviegoing experience. We are asking all of you - our partners, collaborators, vendors and employees - to join us in delivering a vision of a bright future together. We call on all of you to join the mission of the Cinema Foundation. When people come together, barriers to progress break down. When we invest in the future together, we all win. We are the Foundation of a great industry.CinemaCon Would Like to Thank the Following Companies for Supplying an Item in the 2023 Goody Bag THE BOXOFFICE COMPANY BRANDT FILM BUYING SERVICE CANDY DYNAMICS CINETRAIN THE COCA-COLA COMPANY FERRARA CANDY COMPANY FERRERO USA GDC TECHNOLOGY GOLDEN LINK INC.
