CHLOË GRACE MORETZ TO RECEIVE “CINEMACON® 2012 FEMALE STAR OF TOMORROW” HONORS

WARNER BROS. PICTURES TO RELEASE “DARK SHADOWS” ON MAY 11, 2012

WASHINGTON D.C. (March 20, 2012) – Chloë Grace Moretz will receive the “CinemaCon Female Star of Tomorrow Award,” it was announced today by the convention’s managing director, Mitch Neuhauser. CinemaCon, the official convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), the largest and most important gathering of cinema owners and operators from around the world, will be held April 23 – 26, 2012 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Moretz will be presented with this special honor at the “CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards” ceremony to take place on Thursday evening, April 26, in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The Coca-Cola Company, the official presenting sponsor of CinemaCon, will host the final night gala awards program.

“With the poise and talent of a seasoned veteran, Chloë Grace Moretz has captivated the attention of the movie-going public since the age of five with an array of diverse and challenging movie roles,” noted Neuhauser. “From the charming advice-giving sister in '500 Days of Summer' to the take-no-prisoners don’t-mess-with-me attitude of 'Kick-Ass' to her most recent role as the spirited, adventuresome and supportive friend in 'Hugo,' she is truly a young force to be reckoned with. CinemaCon is so pleased to be able to recognize such a talented young lady, and we look forward to seeing her on the big screen for many years to come.”

Moretz will next be seen in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Village Roadshow Pictures’ gothic comedy “Dark Shadows,” when director Tim Burton brings the cult classic series to the big screen. Opening on May 11, 2012, the film features an all-star cast, led by Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer and Helena Bonham Carter. Moretz stars as Carolyn Stoddard, the rebellious teenager in the mysterious Collins family.

Moretz began her career in the entertainment industry at the age of five as a national model in many print campaigns and television commercials before moving to Los Angeles one year later to pursue a career in acting. Soon after, she was cast in a lead role in Michael Bay’s remake of “The Amityville Horror,” for which she received critical acclaim. She most recently starred in Martin Scorsese’s award-winning hit “Hugo.” Her other film credits include “Kick-Ass,” “Let Me In” and “500 Days of Summer,” among others. She has also appeared on the small screen as a guest star on such shows as NBC’s “30 Rock.” Moretz’s upcoming films include the independent feature “Hick,” in which she stars with Blake Lively, Juliette Lewis and Alec Baldwin; and the anthology film “Movie 43,” as part of an all-star cast.
